Delete your Banterfox account and data

You can delete your Banterfox account and all its data yourself, at any time, in the app. This page explains how, what is deleted, what remains, and how to ask for deletion if you can no longer open the app. The binding details are in section 10 of the Privacy Policy.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Banterfox and go to Profile.
  2. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. It cannot be undone, and the account cannot be restored afterwards.

What is deleted

  • your account entry and profile (name, birthday, gender, who you want to practise with, goals, settings) and your consent records;
  • all your conversations with the coach and the practice partners, hints and debriefs;
  • everything the coach remembers about you (memories, summaries, open threads);
  • your chat reviews, scores, program and course progress;
  • your feedback (it is also taken off the website) and your reports of AI replies;
  • your purchase, entitlement and credit records on our side.

What is kept or out of reach

  • Restore history. Our database keeps a restore history for disaster recovery of at most 14 days. Deleted data disappears from it at the latest when that window has passed; it is never used to bring back deleted accounts.
  • App stores. Your purchase history with Google Play or the App Store is kept by Google or Apple under their own privacy terms.
  • AI providers. Text that was already sent to an AI provider to write a reply was processed under that provider's terms (sections 6 to 8 of the Privacy Policy).

Banterfox keeps no invoices or payment records about you — the stores handle payment — so nothing is retained for accounting.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription

If you have Banterfox Pro, cancel it in the store, otherwise the store keeps charging you:

  • Google Play: Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Banterfox → Cancel subscription.
  • App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Banterfox → Cancel Subscription.

Unused credits are lost when the account is deleted. Unlocked courses and scene packs (and an active subscription) can be restored onto a new account with Restore purchases, using the same Google or Apple account.

Delete only some data

  • A single conversation: open it in the app and delete it.
  • Your feedback: Profile → Give feedback, then delete the entry.
  • A memory (something the coach remembers): where the app offers it, there; otherwise ask us by email (see below).

Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer open the app — for example because you uninstalled it, signed out or lost your phone — email [email protected] and ask for your account to be deleted.

Banterfox has no email address or password for you, so describe the account as precisely as you can so that it can be identified, for example:

  • the first name you used and your birthday;
  • the approximate date you signed up;
  • or a purchase receipt from Google Play or the App Store.

We reply within one month, extendable by two months for complex requests, and tell you if we need the extension. The same address handles your other data protection rights (access, rectification, export, objection).

Automatic deletion after 12 months

An account that has not been used for 12 months is deleted automatically, with all the data listed above. Purchases remain valid with the store and can be restored onto a new account; unused credits cannot.
